4 AM Home Visit

What do you do when the village upstream is having massive diarrhea issues? You organize a home visit. And if you want to be there by 8, you get up at 4.

Several weeks ago we packed up all the students and took them up, over, down, and up a mountain to do some public health education. There was a lot about dehydration, hand washing, boiling water, and hand washing. There was an entire song about hand washing. Washing hands is very, very good.

The students did us proud. They did most of the work, leading talks, demonstrations, and discussions. They showed what powerful leaders and medics they will become over the next year of study.

The villagers were very responsive, asking questions and engaging in discussions. Some of them were also pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself!

Our home visit a rousing success, we headed home, through wonderful, magical lands filled with beautiful scenery, fruit trees, and sugar cane!
